Eclipse viewing at Cardiff Museum

20 March 2015

On the morning of Friday 20 March a massive crowd turned out to view the eclipse on the steps of the museum in Cardiff.

We teamed up with Cardiff University and the National Museum of Wales to make solar glasses, solar telescopes and pinhole projectors available for public viewing.

Members of the public brought along their own eclipse viewing creations including some excellent pinhole cameras. We would like to say a big thanks to everyone who attended and made such a successful event, and an especially big thanks to the volunteers who helped to make sure everyone could share in the experience.

Simultaneous events were also held by members of the IOP at Swansea University and Aberystwyth University, and we were all grateful for bright skies across Wales for the duration of this historic event.
